“Varanasi: On Monday, a petition was heard in the district court regarding the demand for the construction of a new temple and the right of Hindus to perform worship at Gyanvapi. The petition, filed on October 15, 1991, by Pandit Somanath Vyasa, Dr. Ramrang Sharma, and others on behalf of the Swayambhu Vishweshwar Jyotirlinga, seeking the transfer of the case to the district court, was heard. The Allahabad High Court has ruled that worship will continue at the Vyasa Tekri.”
