AMU concludes two-day national conference on Indian English poetry

A two-day national conference on “Indian English poetry: Toru Dutt to Vanavil K Ravi” was held at Aligarh Muslim University. The conference focused on the contribution of Indian English poets and the creation of a canon for them. The chief guest, Dr. Zoya Zaidi, shared how language is a culture in itself. Prof Ameena Kazi Ansari discussed reading contemporary poetry and spoke about literature being a geography of the mind. Dr. Sukrita Paul Kumar highlighted liminality as a basic condition for writing Indian poetry in English and discussed the advantage of practicing multiple cultures.
