Lucknow: A 17-year-old nephew of former Samajwadi party MLC Dilip Singh alias Kallu Singh allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a licensed firearm on Friday.
Investigation revealed that in September 2015, the MLC’s brother Subhash too committed suicide with the same pistol.
After the incident, a forensic team reached the spot for investigation. The team has sent the pistol for investigation.
ACP Colonelganj Akmal Khan, the investigating officer, said, “The minor committed suicide with a pistol made by Lama Company of Paris. Though 9 MM is written on the pistol, while the pistol is of .32 bore. When the bullet of 9 mm was inserted, it did not fit in it. The licence of the firearm has of all India permit. The exact bore of the pistol will be known after the investigation by the forensic team.”
The boy, a resident of Lakhanpur under the limits of Nawabganj police station area, committed suicide by shooting himself with the licensed pistol in his room on Friday. At the time of the incident, his mother Rekha was performing Puja on the first floor of the house. She heard the sound of gunshots and rushed to the spot.
The door was found locked from inside. When she raised an alarm, the servants present on the ground floor reached the spot and broke open the doors. The boy was lying profusely bleeding on the bed. The family members rushed him to a private hospital in Kakadeo, where doctors declared him dead.
