Lucknow: A 14-year-old minor was allegedly gangraped by two youths who offered her lift in their van in the Armapur area of the city. The Friday incident came to light after the survivors’ family members lodged FIR at Kalyanpur police station on Sunday.
The incident occurred while the minor girl was going to an Eco park in the Maswanpur area with three friends. Abhishek and Aryan, of the same area, came in a van and made the girl and her two friends sit in it on the pretext of giving them a lift.
The boys dropped the girl’s friends on the way. They took the minor girl to an isolated place in Armapur area and gang-raped her and fled from the spot. The girl reached home and narrated the ordeal to her family members.
The family members on Saturday approached the Kalyanpur police and lodged a complaint. Subsequently, the police registered FIR against both accused under IPC sections of kidnapping, gangrape and POCSO act. With this, police have managed to arrest one among the accused identified as Abhishek.
Police also got the girl’s medical done. At the same time, police were in search of the second accused. Kalyanpur police inspector Dhananjay Pandey said FIR has been lodged against both accused under relevant IPC sections and POCSO Act. “Efforts are being made to arrest Aryan and recover the van,” the inspector added.
