2 men in helmets loot Rs 3.5L from Lesa cashier, vanish

No CCTV In Office, Cops Groping In Dark

Lucknow: Two miscreants wearing helmets looted Rs 3.5 lakh from the cash counter of Jan Suvidha Centre housed at power sub-station of LESA in Indiranagar, holding the cashier at gunpoint, around 4.40 pm on Saturday.

Police teams are scanning the CCTV cameras installed on the entry and exit route which the miscreants took to flee after executing the crime but did not get any clue.

According to police, miscreants entered the Jan Suvidha Kendra (utility center where people can submit bills relating to services used by them) at Indiranagar’s Sector-25 power sub-station in the evening and pointed pistols at the cashier Rajesh Chaurasiya’s head.

They asked Chaurasiya to hand over the money and after that the other miscreant collected all the cash kept in the drawer and in almirah in the office. Both robbers came out of the office and sped off the scene, police said.

The cashier did not raise an alarm due to fear, the police added.

In a statement given to the police, Rajesh Chaurasiya, resident of Gudamba, said he had been posted at the sub-station for a long time. He was alone at the time of the incident and it was time to close the office when the miscreants struck. “There were only two youths who executed the crime and both were wearing helmets. My blood froze due to fear as they pointed the gun’s nozzle at my head,” he said.

It surfaced that the miscreants ran away on their bike parked outside the power sub-station.

CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding area were searched, but there was no clue about the miscreants. During the investigation, police found that neither was there any CCTV installed at the Jan Suvidha Kendra, nor at the power sub-station.
