Lucknow: Two boys, only 8 and 10 years old, raped a five-year-old on their school premises in UP’s Gonda district on Friday. Police have lodged a case of gangrape against the two.
Parents of the accused are being questioned and CCTV cameras of the school scanned to get further details, police said. Shilpa Verma, circle officer, Sadar, said preliminary investigation revealed that during recess time, “the boys took the girl to a secluded spot near a classroom and allegedly sexually assaulted her”.
In the complaint filed on Sunday, the girl’s father stated his daughter returned from school crying. She said two boys from school took her to a secluded spot and did “something that hurt her and left her bleeding”.
Gonda SP Vineet Jaiswal said a police team under a woman DSP is conducting the probe. A forensic team has also collected evidence from the crime spot, the SP added.
Adarsh Tripathi, professor in the psychiatrist department of King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, said, “The boys may not know implications of the crime and could have committed it out of curiosity. Exposure to sexual content freely available on the internet is leading to adverse impact on the psyche of boys of this age.”
