Video of cruelty viral, RPF cop suspended
Lucknow: A railway protection force (RPF) constable was suspended after a video of him allegedly kicking a minor with his boot at Belthara road railway station of Ballia district went viral on Sunday.
The accused constable was identified as Balender Singh, according to RPF Varanasi division of NER. “Azamgarh RPF inspector will probe the matter, meanwhile the accused constable has been suspended,” said RFP Varanasi division control.
In the video, a minor lying on the station platform’s floor was not only kicked by the accused with his boot, he is even trampled by him. Several attempts were made to contact Abhishek, senior divisional security commissioner of Varanasi division NER on the matter, but he did not respond.
PRO Ashok Kumar of Varanasi division NER said, “It’s not yet confirmed when the incident took place and a probe is on.”
