On Thursday, Union Minister Jitendra Singh awarded police medals to 35 serving and retired CBI officers at an investiture ceremony held at the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) headquarters. Among the recipients were Tarun Gauba, the CBI officer who conducted the initial inquiry into a corruption case involving the agency’s former special director Rakesh Asthana, and the officer responsible for overseeing cases of post-poll violence in West Bengal.
The ceremony took place on the inaugural “International Day of Police Cooperation.” Additionally, former Assistant Sub-Inspector G Satyanarayana, who is now retired, was honored with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
