44 flights taking off and landing from Bengaluru airport cancelled.

44 flights taking off and landing from Bengaluru airport have been cancelled. As many as 44 flights were canceled at the Bengaluru International Airport on Friday amid a statewide bandh called by Kannada Okkuta, a prominent body of Kannada organizations, to protest against the release of Cauvery river water to neighboring Tamil Nadu.

According to details, airport officials said that the flights were canceled due to operational reasons and passengers were informed about the same in time. However, sources said the cancellation occurred due to the impact of the Karnataka bandh as many passengers had canceled their tickets. Five pro-Kannada activists were also detained when they entered the airport premises to protest.
