Lucknow: Five persons including three men and two women were killed in a road accident when their car collided with a speeding truck near village Beragdeeva under the limits of Hussainganj police station of Fatehpur district on Monday evening.
The incident, as per police, took place when the truck was on its way to Fatehpur from Lucknow and car was heading towards a village in Hussainganj from Ghazipur.
Police said that identities of three out of five deceased have been ascertained as Pramod Yadav (40), Dayashankar (40) and Sudamiya (55), all residents of Ghazipur (Fatehpur). Efforts are underway to ascertain the identities of other two. The errant truck driver managed to escape from the spot.
Upon being alerted, senior police and administrative officials rushed the spot to take stock of situation. Bodies have been sent for post mortem.
