Lucknow: An eight-year-old boy suffered critical injuries as he jumped from the first storey of his school building after being fascinated by comic hero Spiderman. A video of the mishap is going viral on social media.
Virat Bajpai, son of Anand Bajpai, a medical store owner and a resident of Babupurwa colony, is a student of class 3 at Dr. Virendra Swaroop Education Center School in Kidwai Nagar, H-2 Block.
According to Anand, his son had gone to school on Wednesday.
“According to his friends, he was very impressed with the comic hero Spiderman and was talking about his stunts. After a while, he came out for drinking water and in a bid to perform a stunt like Spiderman, allegedly jumped from the first floor of the school building,” said Anand.
He suffered serious injuries and was admitted to a private hospital by school management.
Kidwai Nagar police station in-charge Pradeep Singh said that the family members of the student have not made any complaint against the school management. “The student’s parents said it was their son’s mistake and there’s no negligence on the part of the school. Nothing suspicious was found in the CCTV videos,” he said.
Doctors said the child’s jaw and four front teeth are broken. “Along with this, he has suffered wounds on his lips. The membrane of the knee is torn. There are also some serious injuries on other body parts,” they added.
