Haryana police detained farmer leaders, khap representatives and social activists to prevent them from reaching Delhi for a protest. The wrestlers have been calling for protests outside the new Parliament building. The police later released some of the detainees, including Bhartiya Kisan Union state president Gurnam Singh Charuni, who criticized the government for suppressing the voice of people. The detained leaders have called for a state-level panchayat on June 4 in Sonepat district, and urged people to attend in large numbers.
