The Uttar Pradesh government is providing skill training to prisoners in various trades under the Prime Minister’s skill development program to help them reintegrate into society. In the last year, 8,160 prisoners received training in about 60 trades, including computer software, carpentry, and beautician work. Training is being imparted in various district jails across the state.
