Lucknow: If you live in Uttar Pradesh and have not yet paid your electricity dues, then there is a good chance for you. The Yogi government of the state has announced the implementation of one-time settlement scheme for electricity defaulters in the state. Implementation of this scheme will speed up the recovery of Rs 45028 crore. This will also reduce the number of defaulters. There are a total of 3.52 crore power consumers in the state.
CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed to bring a one-time solution scheme. This has raised the expectation of 100 percent interest waiver among the consumers. Till May 2023, about Rs 45028 crore is outstanding in the state. In this, about 19122 crores is outstanding only for domestic electricity consumers. Similarly, the total dues of merchants i.e. shopkeepers is about 2874 crores, while the total dues of farmers is about 3337 crores. In such a situation, due to the implementation of the one-time settlement scheme, the dues recovery campaign will gain momentum.
