Lucknow: A man was arrested on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting stray cattle in the Gujaini area of the city.
The accused, identified as Brijesh Kumar Mishra (57), was caught on the complaint of district convener of Hindu Jagran Manch Mayank Tripathi.
The volunteers of Hindu Jagran Manch handed the CCTV footage of July 5 incident wherein the man was found to be involved in sexually assaulting bovines in the Gujaini area.
Joint police commissioner Anand Prakash Tiwari said, “The Gujaini police arrested Brijesh Kumar Mishra and has registered a case against him under section 377 (unnatural offences) of the IPC. The accused has been arrested for having unnatural sex with cattle”. Some of his videos and photos procured from the CCTV footage have been received by the police in which there has been evidence of wrongdoing with different types of animals, the JPC added.
Prima facie the accused seems to be suffering from some kind of psychological disorder. “His neurological and mental checkups are being done. Whatever action is taken in the interest of the society, we will take it,” he said.
