‘FRIENDSHIP’ TRAP’
Lucknow: Friendship with a woman living separately from her husband made the life of an engineer hell as she started blackmailing him on flimsy grounds. The engineer, who worked with a private company, also lost his job following a fake social media post uploaded by the woman in Sarojininagar. Police registered a case on the complaint of victim Ram Krishna Yadav of Prayagraj.
As per the complainant, he met the woman, whom he identified as Hema Gupta, during his stay in Azadnagar locality of Sarojininagar. “Hema was also staying in the same house on rent. We soon became close friends. But after some days she started demanding loan of Rs 10 lakh from me,” he said and added that finally he had to pay the amount to her. “She used to call me through WhatsApp. She threatened to make my life hell,” he alleged. Yadav said Hema ran an organized gang which used to extort money from engineers and other professionals.
“She had made a fake social media account in my name and posted above 50 posts in the account and circulated it among my friend list. Her acts cost me my job with a private company in Sarojininagar. My marriage was also broken because of the same post which she had uploaded on the social media,” he alleged.
