Lucknow: Senior police officials at the DGP headquarters in Lucknow said Pakistani national Seema Haider’s illegal entry into India was being probed by central agencies which will take a call on whether she would be deported back to the neighbouring country and the process as well.
A native of Sindh province in Pakistan and a mother of four, Seema (27) had allegedly sneaked into India through Nepal in May this year and had been staying with Sachin Meena (22) in Greater Noida after they supposedly fell in love while playing an online game.
They stirred a controversy when a section of the media claimed that Seema was an ISI agent and must be deported.
Special DG, law and order, Prashant Kumar said: “Central agencies are probing Seema Haider’s entry into India and will take a call on if she must be deported back to Pakistan or not. They will also decide the process as well.”
The UP police for the first time issued a communique on the entire episode on Wednesday.
During a probe by the GB Nagar police it had surfaced that Seema and Sachin came close to each other while playing PUBG game in 2020. Later both shared their numbers and began to communicate.
“On March 10, 2023, the couple met in Nepal for the first time. They stayed in Kathmandu till March 17. Seema came on tourist visa via flight from Karachi to Kathmandu and returned on March 17 via the same route,” said a senior police official.
“Second time on May 10, Seema visited Nepal on a tourist visa along with her four children Farhan (7), Farah (6), Fariha (5), Munni (3) from Dubai. On May 12, she boarded a bus from Pokhara in Nepal to Rupaidiha border and then Siddharthnagar in UP. Finally, she entered Agra on May 13,” the official said.
From there she went to Mohalla Ambedkar Nagar in Rabupura, Greater Noida, and started living there illegally with Sachin from May 13.
The police had arrested Seema, Sachin and his father Netrapal on July 4 under provisions of the Foreigners Act and Passport Act but were granted bail on July 7.
ATS officers, who for the first time came on record in the matter, said Seema’s husband, Ghulam Haider had visited Saudi Arabia in 2019.
“Ghulam used to send Pakistani Rs 70,000 to 80,000 to his wife every month. Seema used to save some money. Once she saved Rs 12 lakh she bought a land for a house in Pakistan but sold it later to live with Sachin in India,” said the official.
“We have recovered four mobile phones, five Pakistani passports, one of which is without a name,” he said.
