Lucknow: A woman who had gone to defecate in fields was shot dead in Farrukhabad during early hours on Monday. According to information, Geeta Devi (45), wife of Arun Kumar Gangwar, a resident of Majra Sultanpur village Gutasi, had gone to the fields to defecate at around 3 am on Monday.
When she did not come home for a long time, her family members launched a frantic search. Later, they discovered her body lying in a pool of blood. A cartridge was also recovered from near the dead body. The kin soon alerted the police control room about the incident.
Superintendent of Police Vikar Kumar visited the site and took stock of the incident. The police are investigating the matter. Special Operation Group (SOG) and police are interrogating the family members and relatives. The police station incharge said that the family members are being questioned.
