A serious collision occurred on the Pilibhit-Basti highway involving a speeding van and a tempo on Thursday morning. The aftermath was filled with cries for help as approximately 12 people were injured and quickly admitted to a nearby hospital. Station House Officer Prabhash Singh stated that an assistant inspector was dispatched to gather information about the injured at the district hospital.
The crash transpired when a rapid Eco van collided with an oncoming tempo, both carrying a total of 12 passengers who suffered injuries. Ambulance 102, passing by, promptly transported the injured to the district hospital. Both vehicles incurred significant damage.
Around 9 AM, the tempo, loaded with produce from the local market, was en route to Gajraula. With a driver and five passengers, the collision took place near Moodaila Kalan on the Pilibhit-Basti National Highway. The Eco van from Puranpur crashed into the tempo.
The impact caused the tempo to lose control and veer off into a ditch, while the van’s front suffered substantial damage. Transporting seven passengers from Purnapur to Bareilly, the van’s driver and occupants were injured. Likewise, the tempo passengers sustained injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported that during the incident, a government ambulance (Ambulance 102) was passing through. The ambulance driver, aided by locals, transported the injured to the district hospital. Prabhash Singh, Gajraula’s Station House Officer, shared accident information, assigning an assistant inspector to gather further details about the injured at the district hospital.
