Five people, including three pilgrims from Gujarat, were buried under the debris of a landslide on the Kedarnath pilgrimage route in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district. On the other hand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday advised people, especially tourists, to avoid unnecessary travel during this period in view of the meteorological department’s alert for heavy rains in six districts of the state for the next few days.
Dhami made a ground inspection of the rain-affected Kotdwar area and directed the officials to restore connectivity in the disaster-hit area at the earliest.
