The government has increased prisoners’ wages twofold, recognizing their labor. Inmates are now categorized into three groups for payments: skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled. Skilled prisoners, earlier receiving ₹40, will now earn ₹81, semi-skilled from ₹30 to ₹60, and unskilled from ₹25 to ₹50.
