Concurrently, Manjunath, formerly associated with BJP as an MP, MLA, and MLC but currently aligned with JD(S), met Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. Although conjecture surrounds Somashekar’s discussion of the ongoing political landscape in the state – he was one of the 14 legislators who defected from Congress in 2019 – official statements maintain that his meeting with the Chief Minister was centered on developmental initiatives in Yeshwantpur, the constituency he represents in the Assembly.
