3 Booked After Culprit Goes Straight To Survivor’s House, Threatens Family
Lucknow: In a bizarre case, a clerk (peshkar) at a Pocso court in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur connived with an advocate and issued a fake bail order to ensure release of a Pocso case accused arrested two months ago. The incident came to light after the accused, after being released on bail, went to the house of the complainant to threaten them and they informed the police. Police were taken aback by the information that the accused had been released on bail without them having any information about it.
An FIR has been lodged against the court clerk, lawyer and the accused and police are conducting raids to arrest them.
Joint commissioner of police Anand Prakash Tiwari said that the three have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC. “They will be arrested and sent to jail soon. Separate teams have been formed to arrest the trio who are absconding,” JCP added.
Police said that the Pocso accused Narendra Sachan was arrested on June 8 for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in his neighbourhood in Pipauri of Gujaini area of the district.
Narendra filed a bail application in the special Pocso court of the additional district judge, which was rejected by the court. The order of the court was also uploaded online.
During investigation, it was revealed that a local lawyer, whose identity has not yet been established, connived with court clerk Ashwani to fraudulently convert the rejection of bail order into an order of the acceptance of bail. On the basis of the forged bail order, a ‘parwana’ (release order) was sent to the Kanpur district jail.
The survivor’s lawyer, Naresh Mishra, said that the rape accused was released from the jail on the basis of the forged bail and release orders. “He went straight to my client’s house and threatened the family,” he said.
On August 10, a complaint was made to the district judge, who appointed an inquiry officer.
An FIR was finally filed, and police formed teams to arrest the accused.
