Anticipating Amit Shah’s Parliamentary Insights Curiously, Union Home Minister Amit Shah

had foreseen the unfolding events earlier this month within the parliamentary proceedings. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had rallied support from various Opposition factions, including the Congress, in opposition to the Central government’s Delhi services bill, which aimed to centralize control over bureaucrats in the national capital.

AAP had committed its support to the INDIA coalition with the stipulation that it gained Congress’s endorsement on the contentious bill in the Rajya Sabha, where the BJP lacked a majority. Arvind Kejriwal had even issued a veiled threat to withdraw from the second gathering of the united Opposition, convened in Bengaluru last month, unless the Congress committed to opposing the bill in the Upper House.

Although the bill eventually passed with backing from neutral parties like the Biju Janata Dal and the YSR Congress Party, Amit Shah shared intriguing observations during the discussions about the AAP’s trajectory within the INDIA alliance.

“Congress should realize that once this bill on Delhi services is approved, AAP won’t engage in any alliance with you,” he conveyed, urging Opposition MPs to prioritize Delhi’s concerns over political partnerships. He also made a prognostication that the AAP would distance itself from the INDIA coalition after the successful passage of the Delhi Services Bill in Parliament.
