The Maharashtra government has informed the Bombay High Court that the recent tender process, initiated in 2022, for the Dharavi slum redevelopment initiative in Mumbai was conducted transparently, without any preferential treatment given to the Adani Group, the highest bidder.
In response to a petition lodged by UAE-based firm Seclink Technologies Corporation challenging the government’s decision to award the redevelopment project to Adani Properties Private Ltd., the state government submitted an affidavit earlier this month.
“The petitioner has levied baseless and irresponsible accusations, including insinuations of political motives on the part of the respondents, lacking any foundation or substantiating evidence. Due to the absence of any credible basis for these unfounded allegations, the writ petition warrants dismissal with associated costs,” stated the affidavit.
