Lucknow: Three youths allegedly gang-raped a minor after abducting her from her house and then attempted to kill her by hanging from a tree tying her dupatta around her neck in Mohanlalganj. Failing in their bid, they fled the scene dumping her in an unconscious state at the outskirts of the village.
She trudged her home on her own after she regained her consciousness and narrated the incident to her parents. It was then the incident came to light.
The police registered a case on Wednesday and detained three of the suspects and an investigation was underway.
As per reports, a labourer of Mohanlalganj had lodged a case of missing/ abduction of his daughter on Sunday and a case was registered subsequently.
He had said that on Sunday around 5 pm, his 17-year-old minor daughter was returning home after buying vegetables from the Nigohan market and was abducted by three youths named as Anil and Vishal met Nigohan, their fellow Karan, making her to sit on a motorcycle.
On Wednesday, the girl alleged that three youths took turns and held her hostage for more than 24 hours and also attempted to kill her by hanging her from a tree and later dumped her on the road. She said she fell unconscious from the assault.
She further said around 8 pm on Monday night and tied the daughter to a tree in an orchard with the help of her dupatta and tried to kill her by hanging but they failed to hang her properly and later dumped her at the side.
Her father said he informed the police that a team reached the scene and took the girl to Mohanlalganj CHC for a medical test and her treatment.
ADCP, South Zone, Shashank Singh, said that the accused were under police custody and being interrogated.
