A challenge has been presented in the Supreme Court against the reinstatement of Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary membership. In a petition filed by lawyer Ashok Pandey, it has been argued that once a member of Parliament or a legislative assembly is disqualified under Section 8(3) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, they remain ineligible until a higher court clears them of the charges. The petition further demands that the Court instruct the Election Commission to conduct fresh elections for the Wayanad seat.
