DMK President M K Stalin has criticized the current form of the Women’s Reservation Bill, labeling it a “political gimmick” due to its dependence on a future census for enforcement. He emphasized the need to include a quota for women from the Backward Classes and demanded that the Centre provide assurance that the delimitation process will not harm states in South India, including Tamil Nadu.
Stalin expressed concern about delimitation, which he likened to a potential threat to Tamil Nadu and South India. He urged vigilance against any political conspiracy aimed at diminishing the political representation of South India. In his statement, Stalin emphasized the importance of thwarting any attempts to betray the politically vigilant state of Tamil Nadu.
