This 500 metric tonne Flowspan warehouse, built on the initiative of the State Government and the World Food Program of the United Nations, will supply ration to many hill districts. It has been prepared at a cost of Rs 50 lakh. On this occasion, Rekha Arya said that the state is prone to landslides and floods during the rainy season and is also sensitive to earthquakes, hence in such adverse circumstances, this warehouse can be used for storing grains in disaster affected areas through helicopters. Can be set up for rescue or other relief operations. He said that soon these will be installed in other districts also. At present it will prove beneficial for Kumaon and Garhwal.
