This victory marked India’s only fourth gold medal in Equestrian, with the previous three gold medals coming in the 1982 Asian Games hosted by Delhi, where Raghubir Singh won the individual event gold, and the Indian team secured gold in the team event.
Additionally, the Indian shooting team, comprising Divyansh Panwar, Rudrankksh Patil, and Aishwary Tomar, set a world record by amassing 1,893.7 points in the men’s 10m air rifle team competition, earning another gold medal for India. Later in the day, the Indian women’s cricket team clinched gold by defeating Sri Lanka in a low-scoring contest, showcasing India’s diverse sporting achievements at the 2023 Asian Games.
