In a historic achievement, the Indian team comprising Anush Agarwalla, Sudipti Hajela, Hriday Vipul Chheda, and Divyakriti Singh secured a gold medal in the Asian Games team Dressage event, marking India’s first gold in the discipline in 40 years.

The team earned an impressive 209.205 points, adding to India’s medal tally at the 2023 Asian Games, making it their 13th medal and fourth gold this year.

China claimed the silver medal in the dressage event with 204.882 points, while Hong Kong secured the third spot with 204.582 points. This victory marked India’s only fourth gold medal in Equestrian, with the previous three gold medals coming in the 1982 Asian Games hosted by Delhi, where Raghubir Singh won the individual event gold, and the Indian team secured gold in the team event.

Additionally, the Indian shooting team, comprising Divyansh Panwar, Rudrankksh Patil, and Aishwary Tomar, set a world record by amassing 1,893.7 points in the men’s 10m air rifle team competition, earning another gold medal for India. Later in the day, the Indian women’s cricket team clinched gold by defeating Sri Lanka in a low-scoring contest, showcasing India’s diverse sporting achievements at the 2023 Asian Games.
