Israel Declares ‘State of Readiness for War’ After Rockets and Infiltration in the South
Israel has announced a “state of readiness for war” on Saturday morning in response to a massive barrage of rockets originating from the Gaza Strip and infiltration into its southern region. The attacks have resulted in the death of at least one person and injuries to 16 others.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) released a statement indicating that Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi is currently assessing the situation and approving plans of action.
“The IDF declares a state of readiness for war. Hamas, the group behind this attack, will bear the consequences and responsibility for these events,” the statement from the Israeli army asserted.
