Lucknow: A 29-year-old woman accused her lover of forcing her to change religion and of threatening to upload her private photos on social media, on Tuesday. She also alleged that Afzal, resident of Ujariaon area of Gomtinagar, even forced her to take a medicine that led to the termination of her pregnancy.
According to the reports, the woman, a Gomtinagar resident, was lured by the man with promise of marriage. Their relationship was known to the man’s family and the woman visited his house often.
“His mother and his family members Munir Siddiqui, Salman Siddiqui, Bobby Shahin, Gudia, Imran Khan, Ishan and stated her conversion to Islam a precondition for the marriage. When I refused, they beat me up, while Afzal threatened to upload my private pictures online,” she said, adding that when she was pregnant, Afzal and his family members were forced-fed her a medicine that caused the end of pregnancy. “I wanted to keep the baby, but they did not allow me and forced me to go for an ultrasound,” she alleged.
The woman said when she complained to the police on June 30, Afzal and his family agreed to keep her with them. “They had promised to take me to their home within two months. Now, Afzal has backtracked and is threatening me,” she alleged. ADCP, East Zone, Syed Ali Abbas, said FIR under the relevant charges was registered and a probe was underway.
