In a significant development just before the Mizoram elections scheduled for November 7th, the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) has received a major blow. The Speaker of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly, Lalrinliana Sailo, has tendered his resignation from his post and his membership in the legislative assembly. He has also announced his intention to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sailo explained that he has taken this step in pursuit of holistic development for Mizoram.
