In Bihar, Timber Named ‘Red Gold’ Seized by Forest Department from Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR). This action was taken near the Chhitouni Barrage, adjacent to Musahari Tola in Hanumangunj village, Uttar Pradesh. Smugglers were attempting to transport 65 logs of high-value timber known as ‘Red Gold’ from VTR to Uttar Pradesh via the Ganges. The forest department in Uttar Pradesh has confiscated the valuable timber, which is exceptionally expensive, leading it to be dubbed ‘Red Gold’ due to its high market value.”
