
Public sector THDC India Limited (THDCIL) will set up electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to reduce carbon emissions on the Chardham route in Uttarakhand.
Company’s Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) RK Vishnoi gave this information. “Initially charging stations will be set up at 14 locations in the state, for which an agreement has been signed with Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Limited (GMVN),” he said. He said, “THDCIL and GMVN have signed an agreement to set up EV charging stations on the Chardham Yatra route in Uttarakhand. “A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on October 18 to set up charging stations in 14 guest houses of GMVN on the yatra route in the state.” He said, “Both the organizations are committed to rapidly operationalize the charging stations before the start of Chardham Yatra next year.
