In Assam, two prominent leaders of the Congress Party have submitted their resignations from their positions, and today, both of them are likely to join the BJP. In the 2021 assembly elections, Jitu Goswami of the BJP narrowly defeated Suresh Bora on the Brahamaputra seat with a margin of just 751 votes. On the other hand, Poritush Roy, the Executive President of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress, has also resigned from the party.
