Cricket in India has become a passion rather than a game. The history of cricket in the country is more than two hundred years old, but the Indian cricket team played its first Test match at Lord’s on 25 June 1932 and India became the sixth country to play Test cricket.
Today, even though India dominates all three forms of cricket, it took 23 years for India to score a double century in Test cricket. Polly Umrigar has the credit for scoring the first double century for the country.
