Due to the untimely and excessive rainfall in Bengal, leading to the destruction of crops, two farmers from different districts reportedly committed suicide. The police revealed that in Chandrakona, West Medinipur district, a potato farmer named Bapi Ghosh (50) allegedly consumed pesticide on Friday night, and the next day, he succumbed to his death in a hospital.
