China Earthquake: The largest earthquake in China to date, shaking the earth with tremors, has claimed the lives of 118 people.

“In the remote mountainous region of Northwestern China, a powerful earthquake struck in the middle of the night, resulting in the death of at least 118 people and injuries to more than 500 in a 6.2 magnitude tremor. The China Earthquake Network Center reported on Tuesday that a slight earthquake occurred at 11:59 pm on Monday in the Gansu and Qinghai provinces, with its epicenter located 10 kilometers deep within the earth. Experts explained that even mild earthquakes can cause significant damage to fundamental structures. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the city of Liugou, approximately eight kilometers away from Jishi Shan County in Gansu. Qinghai province is situated near the Himalayan region of Tibet, where seismic activities are frequent due to the collision of continental plates. A few hours later, on Tuesday morning at 9:46 am, another earthquake struck the neighboring Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.”
