48-YEAR-OLD TEACHER ALLEGEDLY SET ON FIRE
Lucknow: A 48-year-old government college teacher died after he was allegedly locked in a room and set on fire, in the Panki area of the City on Sunday.
The shocking incident, came to fore, when the teacher identified as Dayaram around 11 am called his younger brother -Anuj on the phone and apprised him that one Sanjeev and his aides had locked him in a room in Patrasa village and later set it on fire.
After this, Anuj reached the spot along with the police.
By the time the policemen broke open the door and took him out, Dayaram succumbed to wounds.
The Police have detained one Sanjeev for questioning.
Later, on receiving information about the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vijay Dhul reached the forensic team and inspected the incident site.
“A burnt body of a teacher has been found in a room located in the Patrasa village in Panki area. In the case, the deceased’s brother has accused four people including his sister-in-law and her male friend of murder. A person identified as Sanjeev has been taken into custody for questioning,” said DCP further and added, “In the preliminary investigation of the police, a case of illicit relationship has come to fore. Further probe is underway to ascertain the exact cause.”
Police sources further said that Dayaram was basically a native of Deori Buzurg village in Fatehpur district.
He used to teach Social Science in Gram Vikas Inter college located at Kanpur Dehat’s Rasadhan area, said sources further and added, “In the year 2009, he got married to Sangeeta of Bhaisauli village of Fatehpur. They have 12 year old son.”
Sources said that Dayaram along with his wife and child were living in Barra – 8 area. “Ten months ago he had seen his wife in a compromising position with a dhaba owner. After that he filed a divorce case in the court, which is pending,” said police sources further.
Since then he has been living with his younger brother Anuj at his in-laws’ place in Gajner in Kanpur Dehat.
