China on Monday tried to downplay the rising tensions with its Asian neighbors over the South China Sea dispute and the eastern Ladakh border issue with India, saying that the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ (BRI ) is gaining momentum and trade with the countries of the region is increasing rapidly.
