Joint Forum for Restoration of Old Pension Scheme (JFROPS) and National Joint Council of Action (NJCA) convenor Shiv Gopal Mishra and co-convenor Dr. M. Raghavaiah have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 29 February. It has been told that the government employees of the Center and the states have decided to go on an indefinite strike from May 1 demanding the restoration of OPS. Employees want only guaranteed old pension. The government should end the non-guaranteed scheme ‘NPS’. JFROPS, in its letter, quoting the memorandum sent to Prime Minister Modi on August 10, 2023, has said, the employees are confident that the government will abolish the NPS and the old pension system guaranteed under the CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972 (now 2021).
