Election 2024: In terms of women’s participation in Parliament, while there were 24 female MPs in the first Lok Sabha, the current 17th Lok Sabha has 78 elected women, marking the highest representation so far. With respect to the total seats in the Lok Sabha, this participation of half the population amounts to 14.4 percent, whereas in the 2019 elections, female voters accounted for 48.1 percent of the votes cast.
