Three decades ago, Jarjar GT Road was only seven meters wide. About 15 years ago, the road was widened to four lanes. In 2011, approval was granted for the Economic Corridor project to convert this road into a six-lane highway. The six-lane work has been underway for 13 years from Rajatalab in Varanasi to Choraha (Hajari Bagh) in Aurangabad, which will be completed in three months.
