A plot similar to the terrorist attacks that occurred in Mumbai on November 26, 2008, was being planned for Kolkata as well. On the allegations of conducting surveillance around the residence and office of Abhishek Banerjee, the National General Secretary of Trinamool Congress, Rajaram Regi, a 53-year-old man, was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police in the Mahim area of Mumbai last Monday.
