A meteorologist said, “We have issued an orange or yellow alert for Jharkhand. We are escalating the warning level to orange for Telangana, interior Karnataka, and coastal Andhra Pradesh over the next 4-5 days.” IMD stated that there has been a continuous heatwave situation in Odisha since April 15 and in Gangetic West Bengal since April 17.
