News Street Live, Basti, April 10: After the safe recovery of a kidnapped youth in Basti district, the victim’s family expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Director General of Police, and the Basti police. Manoj Kumar Upadhyay, father of the victim Anay Upadhyay, said that his son had been abducted by some unidentified individuals. Upon receiving the information, he immediately filed a complaint at Lalganj police station.
He stated that the police acted swiftly and took immediate action, successfully rescuing his son along with his friend. He said he is deeply grateful to Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the Basti police for their timely intervention, which saved his son’s life.
According to the information received, on April 8, Anay Upadhyay had gone to Varanasi with his friend. On April 9, some unidentified persons allegedly held both of them hostage and began demanding ransom from their families. As soon as the information was received, Lalganj police registered the case and began swift action.
Following instructions from senior officials, the police team reached Varanasi and, with the assistance of the local police, traced the suspects using mobile location tracking and CCTV footage. Both youths were safely rescued from a restaurant located at Goithaha Chauraha.
During the operation, the police detained three accused and initiated further legal proceedings. The rescued youths include Anay Upadhyay (19) and his companion Divyanshu alias Rahul Upadhyay (17). The swift police action brought relief to the families, who praised the administration for its prompt response.
