UP Govt Launches ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan’ in Schools from April 16

News Street Live, Lucknow: To give a new direction to women empowerment at the grassroots level in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has taken a major and decisive step. Schools will now be developed as centers for building women power, and the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan’ is being launched across the state.

Under this special campaign, which will run from April 16 to 20, extensive activities will be organized in council schools and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas.

According to the order issued by Additional Chief Secretary, Basic and Secondary Education, Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma, this campaign is being implemented at the statewide level. It is known that the objective of the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan’ is to promote confidence, awareness and social participation among girls, so that they can be empowered from the initial stage itself.

As per the issued guidelines, special programs will be organized on April 16 as ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Diwas’, in which parents of girls with more than 70 percent attendance will be honored. Along with this, a Nari Shakti human chain will be formed in KGBV campuses by girl students and female teachers, and programs related to women empowerment will be organized at the development block level.

On April 17, keeping in mind the physical and mental development of girl students, activities such as yoga practice, sports and discipline-based programs will be organized. Cultural programs will provide an opportunity for girls to showcase their talent, which will boost their confidence.

Essay, poetry, poster, rangoli and mehendi competitions on April 20
On April 20, to promote creativity among students, essay, poetry, poster, rangoli and mehendi competitions will be organized.

Through these activities, leadership skills, expression ability and the spirit of self-reliance among girls will be strengthened. At the departmental level, all schools have been instructed to ensure effective implementation of these programs.

April 16 Nari Shakti Samman

  • In all council schools, parents (mother or father) of girls with more than 70 percent attendance will be honored
  • Formation of Nari Shakti human chain by girl students and female teachers in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya campuses
  • Organisation of women empowerment related programs at the development block level under women veneration

April 17 self-defense demonstration, social service and cultural activities

  • Drill performances by NCC and Scout or Guide girl students in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas to demonstrate discipline and bravery
  • Participation of girls in cultural activities such as short plays, folk songs and folk dances based on the lives of eminent women personalities
  • Organization of various sports competitions for girls
  • Activities in schools under Rani Lakshmibai self-defense training

April 20 debate and writing competitions

  • Debate competition on topics such as impact of Nari Shakti Vandan Conference on future generations or the role of women in a developed India
  • Essay, self-composed poetry and poster making competitions on the theme “Empowered Women Prosperous India”
