Jaipur, July 20 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that completing development projects within the stipulated timeframe and ensuring timely delivery of benefits to the public are among the state government’s highest priorities.
He asserted that negligence or delay in these responsibilities will not be tolerated and directed officials to stop offering excuses for lapses. Instead, they must expedite development works while adhering to a strict policy of “Zero Tolerance.”
The Chief Minister issued these directions during the seventh Raj Unnati review meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday.
He reviewed development projects worth approximately Rs 15,890 crore across seven departments, as well as the implementation of the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee District Upliftment Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin, Panch Gaurav Yojana, and the Rural and Urban Service Camps.
He also reviewed compliance with directions issued during previous Raj Unnati meetings.
Reviewing the Jaipur Ring Road (North) project, the Chief Minister directed officials to coordinate with the Forest Department and the Railways to resolve pending issues and commence work without delay.
He said the project would play a crucial role in easing traffic congestion in Jaipur. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been finalised and submitted to the Union Cabinet for approval.
The proposed Northern Ring Road, estimated to cost over Rs 11,700 crore, will originate from the Ajmer Highway (NH-48) at Bagru, pass through the Jaipur–Delhi NH-48 and Jaipur–Sikar NH-52, and extend up to the Jaipur–Bandikui Spur.
Reviewing the Panch Gaurav programme, the Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to prepare an effective expansion plan and ensure regular monitoring of its implementation.
He observed that local products are the foundation of every district’s economic prosperity and said promoting them through the scheme would strengthen local economies.
He instructed districts that had spent less than their allocated funds under the scheme last year to accelerate implementation immediately.
He also called for concrete measures to ensure the holistic development, promotion, and conservation of the five identified Panch Gaurav components in every district—produce, products, plant species, tourist destinations, and sports. Districts with low performance were directed to achieve 100 per cent of their targets at the earliest.
The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the transformation of RUHS into the Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), modelled on AIIMS, by resolving all practical bottlenecks. He noted that Rs 750 crore will be invested in developing super-speciality medical facilities across 13 departments at RUHS.
In the first phase, super-speciality facilities for Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Plastic Surgery, and Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) will be established by the end of this year at an estimated cost of Rs 140 crore.
He instructed officials to complete all development work on schedule, ensure that super-speciality services become operational at the earliest, and arrange the inauguration of the institute by December.
