Aditya-L1, India’s pioneering space mission designed to study the Sun, recently delighted space enthusiasts by capturing a selfie along with images of the Earth and the Moon. ISRO proudly shared this remarkable achievement on X, as of Thursday, September 7. Aditya L1 represents India’s maiden foray into space-based solar research and is poised to be stationed at the Sun-Earth L1 point, situated approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth.
ISRO elaborated, “A satellite positioned in the halo orbit around the L1 point enjoys the significant advantage of uninterrupted observation of the Sun, free from any obstructions or eclipses.”
